No-Gi BJJ grappling training at Draco Fight Camp in Hua Hin, Thailand

No Gi BJJ in Hua Hin

Whether you're looking to sharpen your wrestling, prepare for MMA, or simply want a fast-paced workout that doesn't involve a heavy cotton uniform, the No-Gi program at Draco's is part of our wider BJJ program and is built for the modern grappler. No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu strips away the traditional kimono, forcing you to rely on leverage, speed, and technical precision rather than fabric grips. It is a dynamic, fluid style of grappling that translates directly to real-world self-defense and the high-energy world of submission grappling. Prefer training in the uniform? Mechanical Control

We strip away the fabric to focus on pure mechanical leverage. You will study submission chains using underhooks, overhooks, and seatbelt controls. We teach the 'why' behind every connection, ensuring you can control opponents without relying on cloth grips.

What gear do I need for No-Gi?

For No-Gi, we recommend a form-fitting rash guard and grappling shorts (no pockets or zippers). This prevents fingers from getting caught and ensures safety during high-speed scrambles. If it's your first day in Hua Hin, a clean t-shirt and athletic shorts are perfectly fine to get started.

Is No-Gi harder than Gi Jiu Jitsu?

arrow

It's not harder, just different. No-Gi is faster and relies more on technical body connections than fabric grips. While it requires more cardiovascular endurance, our methodology at Draco focuses on mechanical efficiency, making it accessible for any fitness level here in Nong Kae.

I'm a beginner—can I start with No-Gi?

arrow

Absolutely. Many students prefer starting with No-Gi because the movements are more intuitive and translate directly to MMA or self-defense. Under Mikael's 2nd Degree Black Belt supervision, you'll learn the fundamental positional hierarchy in a safe, ego-free environment.

Do you have a drop-in rate for travelers?

arrow

Yes. We are a hub for the global grappling community visiting Thailand. A No-Gi Day Pass is 500 THB, giving you full access to our technical sessions and world-class octagon facility in the Hua Hin countryside without any contracts or long-term commitments.
