MMA grappling and cage wrestling training at Draco Fight Camp in Hua Hin, Thailand

Grappling for the Octagon in Hua Hin

MMA grappling is the vital bridge between striking and submissions. Unlike traditional BJJ, our grappling for MMA program is part of our wider MMA program and focuses on high-pressure transitions, cage-assisted wrestling, and maintaining positional dominance while accounting for strikes.

Train in our professional-grade octagon in Nong Kae, where we break down the technical nuances of the "wall-walk," dynamic takedowns, and heavy top-pressure. This is functional grappling designed specifically for the modern Mixed Martial Artist. Round out your game with our MMA Striking sessions, or explore our Kids MMA program for younger athletes.

MMA Grappling FAQ

Learn more about how we bridge the gap between styles

How is this different from BJJ?

arrow

BJJ focuses on the submission, whereas MMA grappling prioritizes positional control and the ability to strike or stand up. We use the cage as a primary tool, which drastically changes takedown defense and ground recovery.

Do I need a Gi for this class?

arrow

No. This is a No-Gi session. Wear comfortable athletic shorts and a rash guard or t-shirt. The absence of the Gi allows for a faster, more realistic pace suitable for Mixed Martial Arts training.

Is wrestling experience required?

arrow

Not at all. We teach the fundamentals of wrestling—including level changes, clinching, and shooting—tailored for beginners. Our goal is to build your grappling IQ from the ground up.
