MMA Striking training at Draco Fight Camp Hua Hin

Technical Stand-up for MMA in Hua Hin

Striking in Mixed Martial Arts is a unique discipline that requires more than just traditional boxing or Muay Thai. Our MMA Striking program is part of our wider MMA program and focuses on stance adaptability, allowing you to throw high-impact strikes while remaining ready to defend against or initiate a takedown.

In our professional Nong Kae facility, we emphasize the "Octagon IQ"—understanding how to use the cage to cut off angles, manage distance effectively, and blend combinations into the clinch. This is striking purpose-built for the complexities of modern MMA. Complete your game with our MMA Grappling sessions, or explore our Kids MMA program for younger athletes.

MMA Striking FAQ

Sharpen your stand-up with technical combat drills

How is this different from Muay Thai?

arrow

Traditional Muay Thai uses a square, tall stance. MMA striking requires a lower center of gravity and more dynamic footwork to defend takedowns. We also focus on different hand positioning to account for smaller 4oz gloves.

Do I need MMA gloves?

arrow

For technical drills, 10-16oz boxing gloves are usually preferred for safety. However, as you progress, we integrate 4oz or 7oz MMA sparring gloves to help you get used to the grip and clinch mechanics of Mixed Martial Arts.

Is there hard sparring?

arrow

We prioritize technical sparring and situational drills. Our goal is to build your skill and coordination without unnecessary injury. Hard sparring is reserved for advanced athletes under strict professional supervision.
